Britannia net up 25% in FY05
 
Britannia Industries Ltd today announced a net profit of Rs 148.8 crore for the year ended March 2005, up 25 per cent from Rs 118.8 crore in the previous year. Sales for the year ended March 31, 2005, was Rs 1615.4 crore, up 10 per cent from 1,470.5 crore in the previous year.
 
A company release said "profit for the quarter ending March 31, 2005 was impacted by lower one-time profit on sale of long-term investment s, compared with the same period last and a higher charge for exceptional items this year."
 
However, the release did not mention the fourth quarter profit figures. It said the company's operating margin has improved by 9 per cent in the fourth quarter.
 
Crisil Q4 net up 45% to Rs 10 cr
 
Credit rating agency Crisil reported a 45 per cent rise in net profit in the fourth quarter of 2004-05 to Rs 9.59 crore from Rs 6.60 crore a year ago. This is the first time Crisil announced its results after US-based Standard & Poor's (S&P) raised its stake to a controlling 58.50 per cent through an open offer.
 
Crisil has decided to align its financial year with that of S&P's to calendar year. The next financial year of Crisil will be April 1, 2005 to December 31, 2005 and thereafter, from January to December.
 
The rating agency's income from operations in January-March 2005 increased by 46 per cent to Rs 30.01 crore from Rs 20.55 crore. Its board has recommended a dividend of Rs 12.50 per share on a Rs 10 share.
 
For 2004-05, Crisil's net profit was up 24 per cent to Rs 22.16 crore from Rs 17.94 crore a year ago, on an identical rise in income to Rs 91.73 crore from Rs 74.26 crore in 2003-04. Earnings per share in 2004-05 increased to Rs 34.99 from Rs 28.67 in 2003-04.
 
The consolidated net profit in 2004-05 was up 3 per cent to Rs 19.84 crore from Rs 19.32 crore a year ago. The consolidated revenues were up 36 per cent to Rs 122.05 crore from Rs 89.68 crore in 2003-04.
 
Colour Chem Q4 net up 250% to Rs 6 cr
 
Colour Chem has posted a 250 per cent increase at Rs 5.72 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2005 compared with Rs 1.63 crore for the corresponding quarter in 2004. Net sales were down by 3 per cent at Rs 88.81 crore from Rs 91.56 crore during the corresponding quarter in the previous year.
 
Net profit for the year ended March 31, 2005 declined by 54 per cent at Rs15.59 crore compared with Rs33.57 crore in 2004. Net sales went down by 3 per cent at Rs 372.99 crore for the last year against Rs 384.60 crore in the previous year. The company has declared a dividend of 60 per cent for the year 2004-05.
