Century plans novel stay for fresh IT pros

Bangalore-based Century group plans to spend around Rs 20 crore to set up eight flexi-accommodation facilities around Bangalore.
Flexi-accommodation is a concept where accommodation is offered to new recruits in the IT and ITeS industry moving into Bangalore.
The group's first project 'Century Nester', at Hulimavu, off Bannerghatta Road, with having 110 beds with an option of single, double and premium studio rooms all fully-furnished with attached toilets was opened on Sunday.
Speaking to reporters after inaugurating the project, Dayananda Pai, chairman, Century Group, said flexi-accommodation is targetted at primarily job seekers and new appointees looking for accommodation in the city that is comfortable, affordable and convenient.
"While companies find it difficult to balance both quality and cost when finding accommodation for their new employees and individuals face a lack of quality accommodation options, Century Nester is designed for that," he added.
"It's neither a paying guest facility, nor a service apartment nor a hotel. Neither, is it a guest house nor a dormitory. It's quite simply what a fun-loving, upwardly mobile young professional wants," he further added.
Century Nester has been built at a cost Rs 2.5 crore and the concept of convenience of a home and friendly ambience, complete with all facilities and services including a cafeteria, gymnasium, laundromat, business centre. The complex is Wi-Fi enabled in tune with the requirements of young working professionals.
This 'flexi-accommodation' concept makes guests reap the benefits of longer duration stay through an innovative tariff system that rewards regular and more permanent customers, while also having attractive packages for groups on short stays," said Pai.
Pai further said, "Century Nester cost Rs 2.5 crore and the group with a budget of around Rs 20 crore plans to open eight such facilities by June 2007 in various parts of Bangalore. Locations have already been finalised and work has commenced on most sites. We want Century Nester to be the first point of contact for individuals wanting to move to Bangalore and who are looking for good quality accommodation".
