Chandrani Pearls on an expansion spree

Chandrani Pearls,the largest pearl jewellery retail chain in the country, has decided to expand its network outside West Bengal to 100 retail outlets in the next couple of years.
At present the company has 25 outlets. It is also planning to tie-up with Pantaloons or the Westside to make its jewellery available at their outlets enabling wider and easy accessibility for customers .
"With as much as 85 per cent of the market, we hope to set up retail outlets in almost all major cities in the east, west as well as the northern region in the country," said Kuldip Nayar, chief executive officer of
The company is planning to expand in places like Bhubaneswar, Rourkela, Dhanbad, Patna, Kanpur, and Delhi. They are also planning to open at least three branches in Delhi.
Announcing its plans at a press conference Nayar also launched a new range "" Jubilee Collection on the occasion of opening its 25th showroom.
He also said, "Having become a popular brand in Kolkata over the last decade, now hopes to become a national chain by opening outlets all over India."
The chain is one of the first retailers in the country to make use of database marketing. "Today we have a very strong database of over 1,50,000 customers, which is the backbone of the business, and we are always in touch with them through our developed communication system. This has helped in building relationships with customers and anticipating their requirements and has given directions for expansion," Nayar explained.
This company was the only jewellery chain of outlets that bought back its jewellery at anytime from any outlet at 70 per cent "" "No questions asked." Nayar Added.
