Crowdfunding platform BitGiving raises undisclosed amount from cluster of angel investors

Earlier campaigns were backed by Anand Mahindra, Soha Ali Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Gul Panag and others

BitGiving, a platform, has raised undisclosed amount of funding from Harminder Sahni, Krishna Mehra, Sanjay Bakshi among others. The New Delhi-based start-up helps individuals and organisations raise funds for entrepreneurial, creative and social projects.

Ishita Anand, Founder and CEO commented that even though the platform has been bootstrapped only for the last two years, it has managed to become a brand and become the fastest growing platform in India.

The fin-tech startup is gearing up for the launch of 2.0, which focuses on building a more connected community and enhances campaign engagement. The funds will be used to scale up the team, enhancing the product and marketing, said the company in a release.

The company claimed that last year it has hosted several campaigns that have been pivotal for the crowdfunding ecosystem in India.

A few prominent fundraisings include the one for the unknown Indian ice hockey team or collecting more than 60 lakh to save Friendicoes from shutting down or crowdfunding over 40 lakh in four hours for the flood ravaged Chennai survivors through India's first live crowdfunding telethon. The campaigns have been backed by veterans like Anand Mahindra, Soha Ali Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Gul Panag among others.
