Two months after first revealing its new logo, e-commerce major eBay has finally unveiled it in India. The new identity retains the original logo's multiple colours, but sports a cleaner look. The letters in the original logo, which remained untouched for seventeen years, overlapped each other and appeared to be floating in mid-air.

In a statement, the company said that the new logo reflected the global marketplace: a streamlined experience with innovation that makes buying and selling easier and more enjoyable.

Muralikrishnan B, country manager, eBay India, said, "eBay has evolved and is much more than auction-style listings. Today, most items sold on eBay are new, listed at a fixed price. eBay will continue to deliver better ways to buy and sell—connecting people to the things they need and love and helping sellers of all sizes compete in today’s rapidly changing world. We continue to be committed to fostering the growth of ecommerce in India. With this new visual identity, we plan to reach out to even more Indian on-line shoppers, brands & entrepreneurs to bring the benefits of on-line shopping to them."

Currently, eBay has seven million live listings across 2000 product categories. It has four million registered users who looking to either sell or buy on the website.
