Essar Gujarat director dies in mishap

In a blow to the Essar Group, Harsh Shah, the company's resident director, Gujarat, died in a road accident near Ahmedabad in the early hours of Wednesday. His funeral will take place after the members of his family, who live in the US, reach here.

Harsh Shah had joined the Essar Group in April 2004 and was responsible for corporate affairs and activities for the group in Gujarat. He was involved in the group's expansion programmes in steel and power.

He had also been involved in activities relating to restarting of the refinery project at Vadinar that needed interaction with the government, regulatory and other authorities.

Shah started his career in 1976 and worked with leading industrial houses.
