GM India launches Chevrolet Aveo

General Motors today launched its new sedan - Aveo - in Mumbai today.

The four petrol variants of Aveo are priced between Rs 5.55-6.85 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The company is also planning to launch diesel versions of Aveo in the future.

The company would be launching a hatchback version of Aveo, which is a compact version of the car launched today, by June 2006.

GM is trying to modifying the Aveo engine, which is currently 1,400cc, to 1,200cc to avail of the excise benefit announced in Budget 2006.

GM is also planning to launch a sports variant of Chevrolet Optra soon.
