KPMG to take inorganic route for growth

Vishal Dutta Mumbai/ Ahmedabad
Netherlands-based global consultancy and accounting firm KPMG is planning to enhance its focus on India in a big way and expand its operations through the inorganic route.

Talking to Business Standard, Pradeep Udhas, executive director of KPMG in India, said, "We are looking at inorganic growth in India now." Of the top four consultancy and accounting firm in India, KPMG is the only one that has not gone for any kind of inorganic growth in India.

The company is looking for those areas where acquisition of a firm will add to its existing business and would fit to the existing work culture of KPMG.

"For the last three years in a row, the company is growing at an approximate rate of 50 per cent, which has been achieved through the organic growth," Udhas said.

The company is also keen on the textile segment where it would pool in its expertise and resources to build up its consultancy.
