Mahindra Two Wheelers was gearing up to launch its much-delayed, production-ready motorbike, Mojo, by early next financial year, said Dharmendra Mishra, the company's vice-president (sales & customer care).

"We wanted to make it available in the volume market, hence the delay. We are in an advanced stage of launching the 300-cc bike, which will hit the roads probably by early next financial year," he told the media on Thursday.

Launching Gusto, a new 110-cc scooter from the M&M stable, in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana markets, Mishra said the company wanted to become a player of substance in the Indian scooter market. "We have just started making our presence felt. We have not set any targets (sales)."

Gusto, designed in Italy and manufactured at the company's facility in Pithampur near Indore, comes with features including remote flip key, find-me lamps, guide lamp, quick storage compartment. It also comes with an adjustable seat, which the company claims is a first for the Indian two-wheeler industry.

Pitted against Honda's Activa and TVS' Jupiter, Gusto is priced at Rs 48,100 ( Hx variant, ex-showroom Hyderabad) and Rs 50,100 for the top-end Vx variant.

The company was currently working across 110-cc, 125-cc and 150-cc scooter and motorcycle segments and would launch products when those were ready, and whenever there was a possibility, he said, adding Mahindra Two Wheelers would continue to offer new two-wheelers to its customers every six months.
