MeTecno sets up facility in Tamil Nadu

Sandwich panel manufacturer MeTecno Group has firmed up its presence in the Indian market with the setting up of a manufacturing facility at Sriperumbudur, Chennai, at an investment of $12 million (around Rs 48 crore).
 
The Italy-based group is into the business of insulated panel production for factory buildings, cold storage and telecom shutter operations. The Chennai facility will produce four panels "� glamet (roofing panel), monowall (wall panel), firgowall (cold storage) and monoroof (for roofing).
 
The Sriperumbudur unit has been constructed on an area of 7.8 acres, with a built-up area of 4,200 sq metre. The plant has a production capacity of 1.8 million sq mt per annum in cut lengths ranging from 2-15 mt.
 
"The facility, which will employ close to 100 people, will initially cater to the domestic market but we are in talks with Vietnam and Gulf countries for exports and might consider exporting 15-20 per cent of our total production in India within three years," Anup Kumar Dave, chief operating officer, MeTecno India Pvt Ltd, said.
