NetApp to set up sales office in Hyd

The $892-million storage solutions provider, Network Appliance (NetApp) has decided to set up a sales office in Hyderabad.
 
Speaking to Business Standard, Goerge Thomas, country manager of NetApp, said that the company saw a lot of potential in the Hyderabad market.
 
"Hyderabad is a very important market for us. We are planning to have a direct presence here and ensure that there are sales resources here who will grow the market for us," he said.
 
It has bagged big marquee clients like GE Capital, Mentor Graphics, ADP Wilco, DE Shaw, Analog Devices and is looking to sign up more new customers shortly especially in the telecom and finance segments.
 
"Telecom and finance are booming verticals in India and 60 per cent of the market demand for storage solutions comes from these verticals," Thomas said.
 
The Indian storage solutions market was estimated to be around $90 million in 2003 and growing at a CAGR of 23 per cent annually, according to IDC.
