Network 18 forays film production with Studio 18

Network 18, the holding company of the TV18 Group, today announced its foray into motion picture business with the launch of Studio 18, a full spectrum division dedicated to movies.

The business spectrum of the company will involve acquisition, production, syndication and distribution of full-length feature films, the company said in a statement.

Studio 18, to be based in Mumbai, will have distribution offices in London and New York, it added.

The company has also appointed Priti Shahani to head the marketing division, it added.

"Studio 18 is a key component in our strategy to transform Network 18 into full-play media conglomeration, with a leadership position in motion pictures, news broadcasting and Internet portals," Raghav Bahl, MD of TV 18 Group, said.
