October saw M&A deals worth $610 mn

The total number of mergers & acquisition (M&A) deals announced in the month of October 2007 stands at 51 with a total announced value of $610 million as against 71 deals and $840 million in September 2007. The total tally of M&A deals announced so far in 2007 stands at 582, with an announced value of $49.85 billion, says dealtracker report by Grant Thornton.
