Punjab Tractors posts 14% growth in Q3

Punjab Tractors Ltd (PTL) has consolidated its performance for the third quarter of the financial year. Despite 5 per cent decline in the tractor industry, PTL sold 9,032 tractors in Q3 compared with 8,384 billed during the corresponding quarter of the last fiscal.

Total revenues of the company for the third quarter ended December 31, 2007, has moved up by 14 per cent to Rs 303.9 crore from Rs 266.0 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal (excluding extraordinary income).

The company's profit before tax (PBT) for Q3 reached Rs 39.3 crore, up 36 per cent over the year-ago period. Its profit after tax reached Rs 25.4 crore against Rs 19.0 crore of the same period last fiscal, up 34 per cent.

The tractor manufacturer has increased the number of its dealership to 583.
