Shaw Wallace Q4 net dips 82% at Rs 3.5 cr

Shaw Wallace, a UB Group firm, today said its net profit fell 82.54 per cent to Rs 3.56 crore in the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009, over the corresponding period a year ago.
The company had a net profit of Rs 20.39 crore in the fourth quarter last financial year, Shaw Wallace said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
However, net sales of the company rose to Rs 63.77 crore during the fourth quarter of FY'09 from Rs 41.20 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
For the financial year ended March 31, 2009, the liquor maker posted a net profit of Rs 11.60 crore, down 82.52 per cent, as against Rs 66.38 crore last fiscal.
Net sales of the company rose to Rs 232.06 crore during FY'09 from Rs 191.14 crore in FY'08.
Shares of Shaw Wallace were trading at Rs 156, up 0.16 per cent in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
