TAAI to boycott three airlines from today

Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) today said it will boycott the three airlines-- KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, North West and Air France for not agreeing to transaction fee agreement.
Many airlines had implemented the 'zero commission' regime from November 1, 2008, under which airlines would no longer give commission to travel agents for the sale of tickets by them, following this TAAI had initiated discussion with 14 major airlines.
Of the 14 major airlines, five agreed to implement the transaction fee agreement while of the remaining eight three rejected it.
"The association will now boycott the three airlines from today onward for their refusal to implement the transaction fee agreement," TAAI President Rajji Rai told reporters here.
Besides this, the association has also asked its members to not sign any agreement with any airline until a final decision on the issue is arrived at, he added.
