The chief judicial magistrate (CJM) court of Dhenkanal has imposed a penalty of Rs 14 lakh on two senior executives of Bhushan Steel that runs a steel plant at Meramandali in the district.
The company officials slapped with the fine are Rahul Sengupta and Satish Tyagi.
"Out of total 83 cases lodged against Bhushan Steel, verdict has already been pronounced in ten cases in two phases earlier. The seven cases finalised today pertained to the industrial accident related violations," said Purna Chandra Das, director of Factories and Boilers.
The court had earlier imposed a penalty of twenty lakh on the two officials.
