'Connect 2009' to be held from Sept 10-13

The ninth edition of the annual ICT conference, 'Connect 2009,' will be held here from September 10-13.   

"The sessions would deliberate on various issues including "Re-Inventing Indian ICT for the new world order," "Rural India-tapping the latent potential," among others,  S Mahalingam, Chairman of the event and Executive Director and CFO, TCS, told reporters here.

Deputy Chief Minister M K Stalin was scheduled to inaugurate the event and speakers including Union IT Minister A Raja, Union IT Secretary R Chandrasekar, Infosys MD and CEO, Kris Gopalakrishnan and IIT-M Director Prof. M S Ananth were scheduled to address, he said.    

A CII-ICICI Venture Connect 2009 Entrepreneur Award would be given on the occasion, entries for which were welcome, Gopal Srinivasan, past Chairman of CII and CMD, TVS Capital Funds, said.    

 

There would be an unconference where youths were expected to participate, he said adding social network platforms such as Facebook and Twitter would be used to generate ideas.    

The conference is organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with the Tamil Nadu government.
