Press Trust of India Itanagar

An estimated 10-12 per cent votes were polled in the first two hours of the polling in the two Lok Sabha constituencies in Arunachal Pradesh today.

Election office sources here said polling, which started at 7 am in Arunachal East and West Lok Sabha seats, is going on smoothly.

Despite light showers, voters of the capital city of this tribal border state thronged the polling station flaunting colourful umbrellas, the sources said.

Reports from far-flung areas without proper communication facilities are trickling in late.

A PTI correspondent, who visited some booths, found a long queue infront of a polling station at Art and Culture department at Naharlagoon, where two booths have been set up for 1738 voters.
