Action plan for easing Raipur traffic

The Raipur district administration is designing an action plan to ease traffic congestion in the capital city of the state.
“It is indeed a big challenge for the authorities but we are working on a plan to regulate the traffic congestion in Raipur city,” District Collector Sidharth Komal Singh Pardesi said. A high level committee had also been formed to look into the matter.
The committee would also give suggestion based on which an action plan would be designed to solve the problem, he said, adding that the members would work on the ground to know the practical problems. However, developing cut roads to ease traffic rush on the main roads would also be under consideration, he added.
The big commercial complexes in the state capital city preventing parking for the shoppers coming there had also come under the scanner of the district administration. The district collector said he would look into the matter and identify the places that could be marked for parking.
The state government had built ring road number 3 that would connect the roads leading to Kolkata with the one going to the industrial cities of Korba and Bilaspur. The ring road would prevent traffic flow coming from Kolkata to the city and moving towards Korba, Bilaspur road.
The chief minister, Raman Singh has also taken serious note on improving the conditions of the roads. In the review meeting of public works department, he told officials to make the roads in good conditions or otherwise people would come out in the roads (as a mark of protest).
