Cas Blues Blank Out Chennai Tvs

Pre-implementation problems of the conditional access system (CAS) took a new turn when TV sets went blank in an estimated one lakh houses in Chennai on Sunday.

The two major multi systems operators (MSOs) in Chennai, Sun TV-controlled Sumangali Cable Vision (SCV) and Hathway accused each other of sabotage. The reason - an apparent move to gain supremacy in the post-CAS regime from 15 July.
