Chhattisgarh Housing board bags award

Chhattisgarh Housing Board has bagged the prestigious EPC World Awards 2012 for bestowing affordable housing projects in the state.
The Board Chairman, Subhash Rao and Commissioner Sonmoni Borah received the award from Union minister for water Resources Harish Rawat and Member of Parliament (MP) Balbir Punj at a function held in New Delhi.
EPC World, an esteemed monthly publication on infrastructure and construction, has been awarding companies and individual for exceptional contribution in infrastructure and construction sector for the last two years.
Receiving the award at the 3rd edition of EPC World award, Chhattisgarh Housing Board Chairman Subhash Rao said the board has succeeded in realizing every individual’s dream of having a home by providing houses at affordable rates.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh had congratulated the board for the feat.

“With the best performance of the board, housing revolution in the state had achieved new heights,” Singh said in his message.
The board has launched Atal Vihar Yojana to construct 100,000 houses in all the districts of the state.
The project, to be completed in three years, had been designed with an estimated cost of Rs 11,000 crore.
Out of the total houses constructed, 85 per cent of the houses were meant for economically weaker sections and lower income groups.
“The housing board has constructed 52,770 houses with basic facilities at the cost of Rs 3,000 crore in the last 8 years under various housing schemes such as Atal awas Yojana, Deendayal Awas Yojana, Kushabhau Thakre Awas Yojana and general housing scheme,” Borah said.
