Haryana SEZs to receive approval

The setting up of eight more special economic zones (SEZs), including five multi-mega projects in Haryana, is likely to be approved by the central government.
This was revealed in the first meeting of the joint task force, held here, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
The SEZs will come up in the districts of Ambala, Jhajjar, Karnal, Mewat, Mohindergarh, Rewari and Rohtak, as part of the drive to ensure overall development of the state.
Hooda assured all help of the state government in redressing the grievances of the industry, and creating a more industrial friendly climate. The proposal for setting up of a large SEZ in Faridabad has been received, Financial Commissioner and Principal Secretary of Industries PK Chaudhary said.
The SEZs will have their own power plants. They will come as a package, and will not depend on others.
The joint task force discussed issues of economic development for growth of industry in the state. Ten SEZs have already been approved by the centre for Haryana. The state's labour policy will be announced on January 12, said Hooda.
"There has been less labour disputes during this year as compared to the last five years. The state had taken steps to improve industrial-labour relations," he added.
