Karnataka not Gujarat: Poojary

The electorate of Karnataka have a different mindset and it would be difficult for the BJP to retain their assembly seats, leave alone win 'Gujarat Style', said former Union Minister of State for Finance and MP Janardhana Poojary.
The electoral wins in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh do not indicate a comeback trail for the BJP as there had been a considerable fall in the percentage of votes polled in their favour, he added.
Coming down heavily on former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, for proposing to follow the 'Modi Model' in case of a BJP victory, Poojary said over 75 per cent of the farmer fraternity would have to cool their heels in jail if it were to be the case. The 'Rama Sethu' project was the brainchild of the previous NDA government but the BJP now was hell-bent on deriving political mileage out of the issue, he alleged.
The previous state government's decision to ban arrack had resulted in in a tremendous rise in the proportion of the sale of other Indian and foreign liquor brands, he observed.
History would repeat and the Congress was sure to come to power in the coming Assembly Elections, he said.
