Screening of the proposals presented at the Emerging Kerala Investor meet is on and the government will come out with the list of selected projects in December, according to state industries and IT minister PK Kunjalikkutty.

“The list will contain only those proposals, which are non-polluting and which do not harm our environment,” the minister said. He was speaking after inaugurating the Standard Design Modules (SDM) facility set up by Inkel at Angamaly near here.

The government will promote only environment-friendly projects in the state. “We have decided to say a ‘no’ to polluting industries. The Industries department has also decided not to promote such projects,” he said.

The minister said the government would explore all avenues, including the public-private partnership mode, to create more infrastructure facilities for non-polluting industries. Availability of land in Kerala is limited, hence the government had decided to promote facilities like SDM, which can grow ‘vertically', he said, adding, there must be a larger political consensus on the industrial policy.

SDM Angamaly has come up on 2,00,000 sft in five floors, with individual modules of 5,000 sft each.
