Kolkata gets a new circuit house

BS Reporter Kolkata
The foundation stone of the Kolkata Circuit House being built on government land by the city-based Fort Group in collaboration with Land and Land Reforms Department was laid today.

The Circuit House would accommodate ministers and other political dignitaries at a premium south Kolkata location.

The foundation stone laying ceremony was held in the presence of the project's chief backed, Abdur Razzak Molla, the minister of the land and land reforms department, and Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya, Mayor of Kolkata Municipal Corporation.

The Fort group said in a release that the Circuit House would have five floors, offer a conference hall and library and 15 rooms and six suites.

Molla had a major confrontation with state finance minister Asim Dasgupta on the land as Dasgupta felt the land was being given at a throwaway price to the Fort Group.

Fort would be building residential building of ground plus 19 floors at the site for commercial sale.
