Our Bureau Chennai/ Bangalore
Karnataka chief minister H D Kumaraswamy continues to make conciliatory moves towards the IT sector, Kumaraswamy on Sunday visited the Wipro campus on Sarjapur Road on Bangalore's outskirts and expressed happiness over the IT major's growth.

Kumaraswamy, who has embarked on a major mission to make peace with the IT sector, had visited the Infosys campus last month. He had heaped praises on Infosys chairman and chief mentor N R Narayanamurthy for earning laurels for Bangalore.

Even on Sunday, the chief minister did not let go of any opportunity to praise Wipro's work.

"Wipro has made rapid progress under the leadership of its chairman Azim Premji. He is a role model for any budding entrepreneur. In fact, he is a fatherly figure to many persons, including politicians like me," he stated.

He said that he was amazed by Wipro's growth in the IT sector at the international level.

"Premji's appearance and Wipro's achievements are contrasting. He is very simple and down to earth. It is because of bigwigs like him that Bangalore has come to be known as the IT capital of India," he added.

The chief minister also lauded the efforts of the Wipro Foundation, which is actively involved in promoting education and working for other causes. "Premji has not only shined in the IT sector, but has taken social responsibilities to a newer level. His efforts are worth emulating," he noted.

Kumaraswamy said that he is committed for the growth of the IT sector. "It is my aim to ensure that Karnataka remains the top destination for IT investments. We are beefing up infrastructure of the City in phased manner. Things will fall in place in the coming months," he said.
