Nath to address OECD meet

Our Economy Bureau New Delhi
Minister for Commerce and Industry Kamal Nath will address a special session of the ministerial meeting of the OECD on 'Trade Negotiations Under the Doha Round', scheduled in Paris on Wednesday.

Nath will also participate in the informal meeting of WTO ministers (mini-ministerial) the same day, an official release said.

He will also participate in a meeting of G-20 ministers from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, China, Mexico, Pakistan, South Africa and other member countries.

He is also scheduled to meet G-10 representatives led by the agriculture minister of Japan and attend a meeting of five interested parties to be hosted by the European Commission.

The meeting of the WTO ministers is intended to discuss some of the core issues in the ongoing WTO negotiations in the Doha development agenda and to give the required political guidance to negotiations in Geneva in the run-up to the ministerial conference slated to be held in Hong Kong, later this year.
