New integrated terminal to be completed soon

With two deadlines missed, work on the new integrated terminal of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International airport was on in full swing and was expected to be completed on September 30, Airport Advisory Committee Chairman Saugata Roy said on Friday.
Roy, who is Union Minister of State for Urban Development told reporters after a meeting of the Airport Advisory Committee that it would be up to the Centre and the state government to decide when the terminal would be formally thrown open after completion.
The minister said the modernisation of the NSCB international airport, taken up by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and designed to handle two crore passengers, was pegged at Rs 2,400 crore.
