No Foreign Investment In Gambling

The government today clarified that as per the existing policy, lottery business, gambling and betting are not open to foreign investment, including foreign direct investment, FII/NRI/OCB investments or to any foreign venture capital investor.

The government also clarified that both foreign investment and foreign technology collaboration in any form are completely prohibited in the lottery business, gambling and betting sector.
