Odisha logs Rs 44,252 cr expenditure in 11th Plan

Odisha has recorded Plan expenditure of Rs 44,252 crore in the 11th Plan period (2007-12), overshooting the Plan size of Rs 32,225 crore in the period.

On infrastructure development, the state government has spent 49.5 per cent of the total expenditure incurred during the 11th Plan, according to state minister for planning & coordination Maheswar Mohanty.The minister said, the state government was according utmost priority to complete the unfinished projects.

On 12th Plan (2012-17) preparation, he said, the state government was in the process of finalizing the 12th Plan document, listing the projects to be taken up.

As per the estimates of the state government, the Plan Size of the 12th Plan is expected to cross Rs one lakh crore.The State Plan size for Odisha for 2012-13 has been pegged at Rs 17,250 crore, 13.48 per cent higher than Rs 15,200 crore in the previous fiscal.

 

The Planning Commission has urged the state to focus on infrastructure upgradation, enhancing spending level and taking up more projects on the public private partnership (PPP) mode besides maintaining the high growth tempo. Annual Plan allocations of Odisha have been substantially enhanced from Rs 5520 crore in 2007-08 to Rs 17,200 crore in 2012-13.

Overall Plan and Non-Plan spending by all departments in the April-June period of this fiscal stood at Rs 8,327.57 crore, meaning an achievement of 15.79 per cent of the budgeted Rs 52,755.15 crore.
