The Orissa government is planning a new law to control widespread poaching of wild animals and rising organised crime across the state, officials said today.

</p><p class='TableClas'>The bill is being drafted and will be introduced in the state assembly during next session. It says that confessions of a criminal before police should be considered as evidence.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </P>
</p><p class='TableClas'>Besides, the proposed law will have provisions to accept telephonic conversations between criminals as evidence.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <BR>Officials say this will help in higher rate of convictions. "The new law will also have provisions of death penalty," said one. </P>
