Pennsylvania opens office in Hyderabad

BS Reporter Chennai/ Hyderabad
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, one of the largest states in the US, has opened its second office in India in Hyderabad. It opened its first office in the country in Bangalore in 2001.

The Hyderabad office has been opened due to increasing interest in investment activities in Pennsylvania by Indian companies, according to a press release by Raj Devireddy, representative director of the state.

"The Hyderabad office will assist any company that wishes to expand into Pennsylvania in all matters related to business setup plan. It will also assist in prospecting new relationships and immigration-related matters at no cost to the prospective investing company," Devireddy said.

The opening of a second office in India is stated to be the result of World Trade PA initiative designed by Pennsylvania's governor Edward G Rendell to increase the state's share of trade in foreign markets.

Currently, the state is inviting companies from life sciences, high technology, advanced manufacturing and materials and business services.
