Private bus fares go up

Private bus operators raised bus fares from Friday in the wake of the increase in the price of diesel. The hike has come into effect in Mysore, Mandya and Chamarajanagar.

The decision to increase the fares had been taken at the special general body meeting of the Mysore, Mandya and Chamarajanagar District Bus Owners' Association on August 20 here. The increase in prices of diesel, automobile spare parts, taxes and insurance premium had hit buses.
