Rs 15 cr to train unemployed youth

| Karnataka has set aside Rs 15 crore to train jobless youth to take up self-employment schemes. |
| Unemployed youth, hailing from families below poverty line, and having studied up to seventh standard are eligible for the scheme. |
| "The youths will be trained at the district industrial centres for three months. The government will pay a stipendary of Rs 1,500 per month to each candidate," deputy chief minister B S Yediyurappa said. |
| The youth will also be trained in small scale industries and mechanised farming. |
| "Committees will be set up at the district level to select candidates for the training programme," he added. |
