St Xaviers, Kolkata to offer Technable courses in ITES, BPO

St Xavier's College Kolkata has tied up with Technable Solutions, to provide training and certification in information technology enabled services (ITES) and business process outsourcing (BPO).

The training and certification would be offered under St Xavier's ITES Academy. The minimum academic qualification requirement is the school leaving certificate.

Santanu Bhattacharjee, director of Technable ITeS Academy, said training would be offered in two tracks""call centre (voice) track and BPO(non-voice) track.

Speaking on the occasion, Roopen Roy, managing director PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) said that in order to attract investment to Kolkata, the city must have a large pool of human resources.

He also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the academia and industry.

H K Mittal, advisor and head, National Entrepreneurship Board, Department of Science, said to achieve full potential in the sector, the environment must be enabling.

St Xavier's College was also offering a course in advertising in collaboration with the Advertising Club.

P C Mathew, principal St Xavier's College said that 80 per cent of the students in the advertising course had been placed.
