Sunni Central Waqf Board to move SC

The Sunni Central Waqf Board (SCWB) today announced its decision to move the Supreme Court challenging the verdict of the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court in the Ayodhya title suit.

The decision was announced by board chairman Zufar Ahmad Farooqui after a meeting, here.

After going through the HC order and seeking legal opinion, the board has unanimously decided to appeal against the verdict before the SC, he said.

The decision gains significance amid media reports about various religious leaders making efforts for a out-of-court reconciliation of the issue that had been fought in the courts for the last 60 years.
