Tata Intl Unveils Stryde Brand

Stryde brand of footwear and other leather products, produced by Tata International, the trading arm of Tata group and its Dewas manufacturing facility, was launched in the city yesterday by the products brand head, Rajesh Chawla. Distributed by Perfect Enterprises, the brand goods will be available through multi brand outlets in Andhra Pradesh.
Chawla disclosed that the company had plans to open a chain of retail outlets in the country for aggressive marketing of brand of leather goods. He indicated that the first such retail outlet would be operational in Hyderabad in two months from now.
Stryde brand of leather goods has been under test marketing in Delhi for sometime now and has been launched for sale through multi brand outlets first in Andhra Pradesh.
Chawla explained that Hyderabad had been identified for the launch since it was the third largest consumer of footwear. He said though Stryde had a range of formal shoes, it was positioned as a lifestyle brand and targeted against the youth. Tatas are targeting a marketshare of 10 to 12 percent in the footwear market whose size has been put at around Rs 8,000 crore a year from the organised sector alone.
