Two more thermal plants announced by Punjab CM

| Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today said that two new thermal plants would soon be set up in the state in addition to the three thermal plants currently in construction. |
| "A high level team of Central Electricity Regulatory Commission will visit Punjab to finalise two sites for setting up two new thermal plants in Punjab in addition to the three in Sri Goindwal Sahib, Talwandi Sabo and Nabha," Badal said. |
| Stating that state government was committed to augment power capacity in the state, Badal said that a capacity of 5000 MW of power would be created in Punjab within next five years. |
| 'Within five years, we will be capable to sell power to other states, after meeting domestic requirements of Punjab', he said. |
