U21 Global launches PG course in intl business

U21Global, an online graduate school, on Wednesday announced the launch of a master of management in international business (MMIB) programme.
Designed to prepare executives for management and leadership roles in a global economy, the MMIB programme offers a focused and relevant curriculum to equip them to contribute to their organisation and the global economy.
The flexibility of the online programme allows new graduates to start building a career immediately while pursuing the masters programme.
Although many of the applicants are expected to be employed, the MMIB programme is the first postgraduate degree programme at U21Global that targets young graduates with limited or no prior work experience.
"Our research has exposed a huge gap in the reach of post-graduate education. There appears to be immediate demand as many graduates have expressed a desire to continue with further education on graduating from a bachelors degree programme. In India, for example, 69 per cent of individuals interested in pursuing a postgraduate degree do not meet our managerial experience criteria for the master of business administration, master of science in tourism and travel management and master of science in information systems management," said Helen Lange, director of the MBA and MMIB programmes, at U21Global.
Commencing in November 2006, the programme will require candidates to complete 12 subjects, with each subject comprising between 120 hours to 150 hours of study " amounting to approximately 10 hours to 12 hours per week. The programme is expected to be of an average duration of two years.
To qualify for admission into the MMIB programme, applicants require a first degree from a good university. Applicants whose first language is not English will also need an English language qualification (TOEFL or IELTS), the release added.
