Wall collapses at Kandla Port, three die

| A wall of Godown no 24 at Kandla port collapsed in afternoon on Thursday, killing three labourers working in an adjacent godown and injured few others. |
| Three labourers died on the spot while one labour seriously injured in the accident was shifted for further treatment at Gandhidham Civil Hospital. |
| While speaking to Business Standard, A Janardhana Rao, Chairman of KPT said, "Due to heaping of loose wheat stock in godown no 24, excess pressure was generated on the walls of the godown, as a result it collapsed." |
| Labourers busy and engaged in packing and shifting the cargo were victims of this sheer accident, three labourers have passed away and one labour is injured, he added. |
| All of them being contract labourers, compensatory aspect of the victims shall be taken care by their respective contracting companies, said Rao. |
| However a shipping company official present at accident site said actually the wall collapsed was merely a partition and not strongly laid on foundation. |
