Central Bank of India to add 1,750 ATMs in next 6 months

The teller machines will be added on an outsourcing model.

Mumbai based public sector lender Central Bank of India will add 1,750 Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) to its network by the end of this financial year.

They will be added on an outsourcing model.

The bank today inaugurated 1,901st ATM today in Mumbai.

According to a statement, chairman and managing director MV Tanksale has set up a plan to take the ATM network of the bank to 3650 ATMs by March 2013.

ATM inaugurated today was the first ATM sourced under common tenders floated by public sector banks, statement further said.  

There are 1,00,620 ATMs across the country by the end of August end according to the Reserve Bank of India data.  Out of these  49,023 are  ATMs which are located on the branch. There are 51,597 off site ATMs.
