Corporation Bank Net Up 27% In Q2

Corporation Bank has posted an 27.3 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 118.7 for the second quarter ended September 30, 2002 as against Rs 93.24 crore in the corresponding period in the previous year.

The net profit for the half year ended September 30 increased by 26.6 per cent to Rs 216.91 crore as aginst Rs 171.28 crore the previous year.

Total income of the bank grew by 12.4 per cent to Rs 1284.2 crore for the six month period mainly due to an increase of other income.

The other income of the bank rose by 37 per cent to Rs 251.96 crore from Rs 183.91 crore the previous year, while interest income rose by 7.7 per cent to Rs 1032.24 crore as against Rs 958.21 crore.

 

The advances of the bank for the six months was at Rs 9638.47 crore as against Rs 10987.41 crore on March 31,2002.
