Forex reserves zoom $702mn to $178.13bn

Foreign exchange reserves zoomed $702 million to $178.128 billion for the week ended January 19, according to the weekly supplement released by the Reserve Bank on Friday.

Foreign currency assets mved up $701 million to $171.068 billion. Gold reserves and SDRs were unchanged at $6.517 billion and $1 million, respectively.

The Reserve Tranche Position with the IMF was up $1 million at $542 million.
