HSBC India ops FY07 net up 64% at Rs 846cr

Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation today reported a 64% increase in the net profit of its branches in India for the year ended March 31, 2007 (FY07), on strong performance across all business lines. The net profit of HSBC's India branches in FY07 was Rs 846 crore as against Rs 515 crore a year earlier.

India is among the top ten contributors to the group's profits.
