Irda panel seeks views for reframing broker norms

| The expert committee set up by insurance regulator Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (Irda) for reviewing licensing regulations of brokers has sought views of all stakeholders. "We shall be glad to have the views in the form of a written presentation, which may be sent to the committee through Post or e-mail," the committee said in a notice. The committee has been constituted in the light of the experience of Irda during the past three years, and for making such recommendations as considered necessary to strengthen the role of brokers, more particularly in the context of the de-tariffing of non-life insurance from next year. The committee comprises G K Raman (chairman), G V Rao, B Chakrabarti, S V Samanth and M Ramadoss as members. The committee is holding personal discussions in Kolkata on August 26, and plans to organise similar meetings in other metros. |
