Sentiment: Bullish

  • Backed by liquidity, the government securities market recorded its highest-ever turnover of Rs 10, 471 crore on Friday.
  • Prices across the board went up by 20-25 paise.
  • Call ranged around 4.9 per cent due to reporting Friday with repo subscriptions at around Rs 28,000 crore.
  • Corporate bonds also rallied tracking the government securities, however recorded only Rs 250 crore worth turnover.

    Market Sentiment: Bullish

  • Spot rupee opened at 46.15/16 and reached a low of 46.1150 before closing at 46.13/14 to a dollar.
  • Premiums remained range-bound with the six-month and one-year forwards ruling at 2.05 per cent and 2 per cent, respectively.

    Spot rupee is expected to open in the range of 46.09/15 per dollar on Monday.
