Sentiment: Bearish

Prices of long-term government securities crashed by 30-40 paise, while those of medium-term papers fell by 10-15 paise.

Apprehensions of an OMO due to the conversion of special securities worth Rs 19,000 crore into dated securities weighed heavy on the market.

Yield on the benchmark 10-year paper, 9.81 per cent 2013, closed higher at 5.28 per cent.

Call money rates hovered around 4.50 per cent.

Market Sentiment: Bullish

The rupee ended at 45.855/865 against dollar on purchases by state-run banks and corporates.

The three-month forward premium closed at 1.11 per cent, while the six-month forward premium closed at 1.00 per cent.
