Rupee falls by 25 paise against $ in early trade

The Indian rupee plunged by 25 paise against the greenback in early trade today following increased dollar demand from importers and capital outflows by foreign funds.

At the Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex) market, the local unit, which ended steady at 49.00/49.01 yesterday, fell by 25 paise to 49.25 against the greenback.
