Southward Rates Slow Down Deposit Growth At Banks

The banking industry has started feeling the heat of continuously falling deposit rates.
The aggregate deposits of all scheduled commercial banks (SCBs) have grown only Rs 87,649 crore in the first five months of the current fiscal (April-August) as against Rs 1,23,874 crore in the corresponding period last year.
